Silestone® once again stands alongside one of the most important events in the international culinary calendar, the Madrid Fusion International Culinary Summit, which celebrates its sixteenth year from 22-24 January at the Palacio de Congresos in Madrid. This year marks the eleventh time that the Spanish multinational company Cosentino has, through its products, attended this distinguished event as a sponsor. For three days, the summit makes Madrid into the capital of world haute cuisine.
Since 2014, Cosentino sponsors the ‘European Chef of the Year Prize’, a prestigious award that, for four years, has been given annually at the Madrid Fusion summit. This year, the organization has awarded the prize to the Austrian chef Sebastian Frank, chef of the restaurant Horváth in Berlin. With the prize, the culinary competition wants to recognise his demanding, rebellious cooking, which breaks rigid traditional lines to create new possibilities.

The awards ceremony took place on 23 January at 2:05 p.m. at Madrid Fusion’s main auditorium. Vanessa Feo, Cosentino Group Head of Communications and International P.R., was there to give the statuette to Sebastian Frank.
During its three days, the Madrid Fusion summit features more than a dozen Silestone® worktops in different colours, which internationally prestigious chefs will use to cook. The presence of Silestone® in the Madrid Fusion kitchens guarantees hygiene, functionality, colour and elegance.
Madrid Fusion’s sixteenth year is focused on the new generation of chefs who are setting new trends in the culinary world. Conferences, workshops and cookery demonstrations will address new flavours, textures and techniques. This year, the guest country is Japan.
